The Last Days of Disco and The Whiskey Sour
Alice: “That’s odd he knew I drink vodka tonics. I never told him.”
Des: “It’s uncanny.”
Alice: “You mean it’s a complete cliché? All women recent college graduates drink vodka tonics or something like that?”
Des: “Well, maybe.”
Alice: “So Jimmy thinks I’m a total cliché?”
Charlotte: “I ordered a vodka tonic too. So what. You’re plenty original without having to order some very own drink.”
Des: “Yeah I wouldn’t worry about it. Can I get you another one?”
Alice: “Thanks actually. If you don’t mind. I think I’d prefer. Um. A whiskey sour.”
Whiskey sours are one of my most-missed drinks from home. I’m really looking forward to busting out the Fessler-Vaughn family recipe at Christmas:
Take 1 can frozen lemonade pour into pitcher. Fill can with whiskey and pour in a beer. Add ice and maraschino cherries to garnish.
Deliciously (and dangerously) strong - plus um. unique.
